Bishops's Waltham Festival Proudly Presents....

Message from Lyn Lee, chair of the Bishops Waltham Festival committee..........

We have launched our programme for 2012 this February after our return last year with a new style and new venues. This year an exciting new venue will be the refurbished Crown presenting a Comedy night. Fullers will be the new Festival sponsors and we look forward to working with them.

Continuing our growing emphasis on showcasing local talent and giving opportunities for all to join in, we will start with our ‘Battle of the Bands’ and our children's workshops which will lead to performances on our stage in the High Street on Festival Day with fun for all the family alongside the Italian Market.

New to our programme is our 'Come and Sing' with its concert in St Peter's and this year’s ‘Showcase' has four local drama groups to entertain us.

For our outdoor theatre experience, we’ve booked the Rain or Shine Theatre Company to play Shakespeare ‘As You Like It’ and our restaurant meal and music evening will again be at Bishops Waltham Tandoori.

The Library will host an evening of Jane Austen as well as Children’s Theatre sponsored by Fythian and Saxby.

And to end this wonderful week, the very well known rock’n roll band, the Atlantics, will perform in the Jubilee hall – music, dancing and bar.......
